While waiting for Canada Post....

I couldn't believe it took Canada Post 16 days to finally deliver the last box of a 3 box shipment that had arrived in Canada Oct. 22. Sigh! On the plus side, the delay gave me time to work on another felting kit, two kits in fact. Both are for teddy bears. As always, I couldn't just stop at one...

Once I decided on the shape, the felting took no time at all. OK, they're little, just 5" (12.5cm) and they're made entirely of fibre - there's no core. So really, all I had to do was compress and shape the fibre. I did spend time, though, sculpting their cute little faces.

And I added beads to the eyes to make them sparkle. Each kit makes two bears. One kit makes a white bear with black trim, plus a black bear with white trim. A second kit that makes a brown bear with gold trim and a gold bear with brown trim.

I know that not everyone has a stash of felting mats and needles so I included one mat and two needles. I also put in the fibre, beads, beading needle and invisible thread, plus a teeny tiny metal ring as a hanger. I took pictures along the way, so the detailed instruction sheet also has pictures!!

I give ornaments as presents, when I can part with them. They make great hostess gifts at Christmas. Add one to a special package or group a few together for a table decoration. The retail price for this kit is $17.50 and it has everything you need to make two very cute teddy bears.

I love teddy bears so much that I'm working on some ideas for the summer, using more bears, of course. Did I mention that you could use these for a mobile?

Have a bearable day!!
